Terms & Services 

Welcome to Nu Ceramics Studio! We’re excited to have you in our creative community. These Terms and Services (“Terms”) outline the expectations, responsibilities, and policies for all studio users, class participants, and visitors. By participating in our programs or using our facilities, you agree to these Terms.

1. Studio Use and Access

  • Membership & Drop-in Access: Access to the studio is available through memberships, class registration, or scheduled drop-ins. Memberships are non-transferable.

  • Hours of Operation: Studio hours are posted on our website and may be subject to change. Members will be notified of any closures or adjusted hours in advance when possible.

  • Supervised Use: Certain tools and equipment may only be used under the supervision of studio staff, especially for new or inexperienced users.

2. Class Registration and Cancellation

  • Payment: Full payment is required to secure your spot in a class or workshop.

  • Cancellations by Participant:

    • Cancellations made more than 7 days before the start date will receive a full refund minus a small processing fee.

    • Cancellations made within 7 days of the start date are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations by Studio: If we cancel a class due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances, you will be given the option to transfer to another class or receive a full refund.

3. Health & Safety

  • Attire: Closed-toed shoes and appropriate studio clothing are required. Long hair must be tied back when using wheels or kilns.

  • Safe Practices: All users are expected to follow safe clay, glaze, and kiln practices as instructed. Repeated unsafe behavior may result in loss of access.

4. Studio Etiquette and Responsibilities

  • Clean-Up: All users are responsible for cleaning their work areas, tools, and shared spaces after use. Leave the studio better than you found it!

  • Respect: We are an inclusive and respectful space. Discrimination, harassment, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Personal Belongings: Nu Ceramics Studio is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please label your tools and store them in designated areas.

  • Management reserves the right to deny individuals access to the studio.

5. Work and Firing Policies​

  • Pick-Up: Finished work must be picked up within 30 days from the pick-up notification email. Items left longer may be donated or discarded.

  • Glaze Use: Only studio-approved glazes may be used. No outside clay can be used.  This is to prevent damage to kilns.

6. Photography & Promotion

We love showcasing our community! By attending classes or events, you consent to the use of your image or artwork in studio promotions unless you opt out in writing.

7. Changes to Terms

Nu Ceramics Studio reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.

We’ll notify members of major changes via email or studio announcements.
